What is Qi Gong?
Qi Gong (aka Chi Kung) is composed of two words: Qi and Gong. Literally, Qi Gong means energy cultivation, breath work, and benefits derived from energy work.
Qi (or Chi / Ji / Ki) is the fundamental life force in living beings, which the Hindus and yogis call "prana," Luke Skywalker calls "the Force" and Judeo-Christians would call "Spirit." Qi must be felt instead of explained. Gong means work or fruits of discipline. Hence, Qi Gong is the manipulation, cultivation, and direction of life force.
Traditionally, Qi takes on three forms, known as the Three Treasures: Jing, Qi, Shen. They mean sexual energy, chi, and spirit energy respectively. The aim for a Qi Gong practitioner is to balance the three treasures and to sublimate Jing into Chi, transmute Chi into Shen, in order to finally return to the Void or Source.
Qi permeation techniques will fine tune your five senses as well as awaken a "sixth sense," or sensitivity to subtle energy. All living animals have chi and sensitivity to energetic vibrations, but humans have ignored these faculties in our modern lifestyles. Now you can have them back.

FAQs
Q: Is Qi Gong a religion?
A: “Most definitely not. It is a tool for improving health, enhancing your mind/body connection, and connecting you with the qi or life force. It can enhance your own spirituality. You can use that to enhance your own religious path or not. It is up to you.” – Taken from The Qi Gong Association of America’s website on 7/9/12, http://qi.org/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=21&Itemid=43.
